My Story

Born in Northern Labrador, Paul became enamored with adventures into the wild. After seeing his first dog sled race the Labrador 400. Paul forever dreamt of having his own dog sled team to travel and endure Canadas rugged northern landscape. The beginning of Paul's adventure with sled dogs started in Yellowknife, NWT, with his first dog team being Canadian Inuit dogs and Siberians.  His first team of recreational sled dogs was used to explore with Paul's family the majestic Great Slave Lake. Many found memories remain of trips to his remote cabin and multiday adventure's.

After watching the Yukon Quest the toughest sled dog race in the world in 2013, Paul desired to travel further and more remote then ever in the Yukon Territory. This dream lead to a different type of sled dog, the Alaskan Husky. Paul participated in two Yukon Quests with his Alaskan Husky team, leaving Paul with a deep sense of accomplishment and commitment to his loyal companions that carried him through.

Paul's relationship with his dogs made him dream bigger, and want to share the experience between man and dog  with others, thus Braveheart Adventures was born.

During the thousands of miles on remote trails in the dark, in the light, in the deepest of winter, through storms and temperatures as low as -50 C the dogs true nature and strength shone through.

Every adventure is only possible is only possible because of the brave hearts in each canine athletes.
